Hometown: Asheville, NC

I grew up on a farm and I have a deep love and respect for nature and preserving our planet. Also, I lost my home and much else as a result of the economy. I firmly believe it should not be such a struggle for everyone to have the opportunity to live in a nice home. "Affordable housing" shouldn't be the exception... And bigger isn't always better. We can not continue to live like we have and expect the government or "someone else" to make the change for us. We would continue to struggle with only ourselves to blame. There are solutions and living smaller and greener is an important one. These changes in how we live need to begin with each one of us... NOW. We can do it if we do it together... One house at a time, one neighborhood... one state... one country... You get the point.
All of the above! I want to make a difference.
The satisfaction of knowing that my efforts had a positive affect on at least one person's life... But preferably the world. AND everything I can about sustainable building methods related to tiny & small housing. .
I'm a Project Manager, designer, photographer. I designed and built my own deck and some other small building projects. I'm good at organizing events and making things happen. I also have good computer skills and can build simple web sites. http://www.kristensalvatore.com and http://www.sweetsimplesites.com Once I get a "bee in my bonnet" (as my mom says) I concentrate everything onto that goal. Well...I guess I caught a "Small Green House Bee"!
I'm a Project Manager (websites, green, design) seeking a meaningful career and life. I moved to Asheville January '12 (from NY state) to pursue that dream. This group is perfect... I can learn more about green building AND help out!
This amazing group of creative minds never ceases to amaze me. There are truly a lot of big hearts and inspiration to make the world a better place.
