Philosophy aside, I seem to have an inborn need to simplify and minimize. I do what I can do minimize my impact, but the operation and maintenance of even a modest house can expend a lot of natural, personal, and financial resources.
I would love to volunteer time. I much prefer to socialize in the context of practical activities. My wife and adult daughter would both likely be interested in volunteering as well. The opportunity to meet like-minded folks and share in worthwhile endeavors. I also want to explore whether this is something that would ultimately be feasible for us.
I am no carpenter, but I have the handiness typical of a DIY homeowner. My professional skills are sadly, uselessly technical, but I have a knack for logic and problem-solving.
I am a fairly recent import to WNC. I live near Mars Hill with my wife and kids. I work in IT for a healthcare organization.
