there will be an art reception there for the one billion rising art show but in addition, i have invited some of our Hanover Art Association members to meet for a quick meeting as we are expanding, recruiting, and hope to rent our group space there when they set it up.

Hey, how about I just cancel this, since no one seems to be coming anyway, other than 4 or 5 people on the facebook event. PS: I started the paperwork for the non-profit today.

  Exactly Chris. If is were a meetup just for members to get together at a coffee shop or something, and no one expressed interest, canceling might make sense. But if it is an existing event, the meetup at the very least serves to help promote and give visibility to the event, even if no one winds up going. I wish more people would post about events they know are happening, even if it is just that their brother-in-law will be playing in a restuarant, or have a piece in an art show somwhere close.

Impatient?...haha- I have been building upon the Hanover Art Association, non-stop for two years, promoting the Arts in the Area, ( especially ashland )allowing access to my contacts & friends list to new galleries, & venues, hosting meetings, planning exhibits, encouraging artists, making donations, etc, ad infinium..................

  note about our non-profit, & 501c3- once this is completed, and grant monies are allocated, I'm sure lots more folks will want to join in.

  Barb, yes annoucing meetups helps the group to grow. The announced meetup is advertised to peopel who have meetup accounts who have selected interests which overlap the "we're about". So since I like horror stuff, if a new meetup group is formed or a meetup is created about horror stuff in Richmond, I'll get an email saying "you might be interested in this upcoming meetup or this meetup group".

  ok. I changed to three because the Art Exhibit for One Billion Rising, is at 1pm-3pm, which I need to be there for...Some folks have said they may stop by before, during or after.....I hope to see you @ the next Meet Up Chris! Thanks so much!

  since there are no members of the Hanover Art Association in this meet up group yet, I"ve decided to reschedule this for another time. Our group gallery space @ crossroads is on a waiting list, so maybe by then, we'll have some members of this group join us.

  One of the weaknesses we've had in past meetups in large venues is that we haven't had a way to find one another. Especially for new people who haven't met face to face before. As you guys are more familiar with Crossroads, is there a specific place we can tell people to meet, or another suggestion for finding one another?

Hey, how about who ever can come to the Art Show for One Billion Rising, show up! It's from 1-3pm, they will be having the talks & awards, etc...and then if some folks can
t comer until later, we could meet there & then look around and then go grab a bite somewhere nearby.
