Legit Korean Hot Spicy Tofu Stew & KBBQ in WeHo! BYOB No Corkage Free WiFi

Ate here last night as it was on my way home and this place has been on my ToEat list for months. With 81 Yelp reviews and the worst is a 3* averaging over 4.5 in WeHo... I had to see for myself. Interior in nice and clean, they have a couple of flat screens which I hate, but I'm sure others might like them. So I ordered the combo tofu which had clams, oysters pork and beef. Not bad, but I prefer to try the beef or pork or mushroom next time.

The banchan variety is amazing! I was a solo diner and I received 13 banchan plus my tofu stew and rice, so a total of 15 items... all for only $9! Including one of those small whole fried fish, I think it is a corbina. I hope they make it as I think their prices are too cheap! The size of the tofu stew was not huge, but I totally stuffed myself as I didn't want to disrespect the restaurant and leave a bunch of uneaten banchan. This place has a bunch of 4 seat tables, so each table will dine family style and split their bill equally for the food and for drinks pay individually.

I asked them if they sold beer. They said no... BUT, you can bring your own alcohol as long as you have a receipt that you bought it elsewhere... So BYOB, free corkage... but if you are pulling out a bottle of 20yo wine from your cellar and don't have your receipt... that could be problematic... However, there is a liquor store 2 doors down at the corner!

Free wifi too! The server was probably one of the owners, but I didn't ask... She was very pleasant but spoke broken English so it was a bit tough to communicate. Just like Ktown!

They have bulgogi, chap jae, mandu, seafood/scallion pancakes... a similar menu variety to BCD or Beverly Soon Tofu House... There are no table top grills, so they will cook your kbbq for you if you order it, just like So Kong Dong Tofu house.

So, I'd like to host an event here so I can share family style and try lots of their other Korean dishes... It's a small place, so we will do two tables of 4.

They do take credit cards, but please if you can, bring cash to make paying the bill easier.

Melrose Ave parking... meaning, arrive to the area early if you want free parking, you might have to walk a few blocks and be sure to read the signs in the residential streets. Street metered parking or valet parking is available nearby.

Check out the reviews and photos on Yelp and you too will agree this place should be on your list of restaurants to try if you like Korean food!

This will be a joint event of LA Asian Foodies and LA Foodies! Foodies Unite!

Sorry no guests, if you have a friend that you want to bring along, sorry they will have to join the group... I fear this event will have a long wait list and I'm not requiring a deposit, so if a member no shows, so will their guest which leaves two empty seats which gets everyone who wanted to attend upset and the members who were there on time waiting for the no show members... Very bad form...
