Asian American Professionals / Friendship Archway Network Monthly Meetup

Join Asian American professionals and people of all backgrounds interested in helping to build One City. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!

Through face-to-face conversations over lunch sharing how we can be helpful and supportive of each other, we are bridging cultural, digital and other divides and building community Spirit!

This is a monthly networking opportunity to connect people interested in Asian topics, Asian and Pacific Islanders, Asian Americans and others. You will enjoy networking conversations over lunch (self-pay) on the 3rd Sundays of each month from 12:30PM to 2:30PM. There is a round of self-introductions so you will know who you may wish to followup with. This community event takes place at the same time and location each month: at Burma Restaurant at 740 6th St. NW, 2nd floor, Wash. D.C. (one block from Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro, red line).

Meet with local Asian professionals, business owners, consultants and people of diverse backgrounds interested in building Washington D.C. as One City as well as building better US-China relations, a better Chinatown DC, and a friendlier, happier and healthier local and global community of allies and friends.

More info, see,

Burma Restaurant is one block from Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro station, red, green, yellow lines. Follow signs to exit at Chinatown, walk on H street to 6th, turn right, it is middle of block on right, look for small door to 2nd floor in between 2 restaurants. Paid parking entrance also next to restaurant.

We appreciate the excellent work of the Mayor's Office on Asian and Pacific Islanders Affairs. Mayor Vincent Gray played a critical role in shaping the future of DC's Chinatown by his legislative leadership and action in designating Chinatown as a DC destination for Asian American businesses. Come and network with Asian Americans who are holding this vision!

The organizers and attendees were interesting to talk to, even though I did not get talk to everyone that was there. The turnout was the largest numbers for any business and friendship networking event I have been to.

Lots of APIAs in the house. The 50+ attendees were very diverse racially and age-wise, as well as professional interest areas, including business and IT.
Finally, a great way to support a gracious restaurant, that is normally closed on Sundays at lunch. A great partnership. Props to the owners and managers of Burma, a gem in Chinatown/Penn Quarter.

I enjoyed meeting and speaking with all of you.

Today was a really great day. People had the chance to make a lot of connections, enjoy some good food, and have a good time. Also, the turnout was fantastic.

This is one of the few opportunities in downtown DC for the people who wish to get to know some Asian Americans. We appreciate the Asian Americans who regularly contribute and participate in this interactive community service program to help transform misperceptions and bridge cultural divides! Thank you very much!

This meetup was awesome. I made some great contacts and see the possibility of doing business with at least two of them. I got a lot more out of this event than plenty of others I go to. It had a pretty unique format that really worked. I also had a good meal while we all networked. This event should definitely be on your to do list for August. I know it will be on mine.

I was in the area last week and the Burma Restaurant does not seem that big on the outside nor would it look that good on the inside.
