I'm an EGG (white on the outside, yellow(E.Asian) on the inside). No choice, it's genetic. Not only do I love E. Asian food, nearly all my friends&romances are Asian. Among Asians, I feel at home. And I’d enjoy meeting more Asian buds & ladies.
Don't remember exactly since the group didn't originally ask this question, so I added it :-) But I do think I saw it listed on someone's Meetup groups.
(1) Born in the US (though I generally best with foreign born folks). (2) White: my mother is German+Icelander; my father is English+French. I'm mostly like an Icelander except for my Asian genetic flip. (3) ~32 so apparent YOB 1978.
(1) Have members be like our logo: a close group of friends. :-) (2) I like dances with mostly 80s music, dinners, movie nights, festivals. (3) Work my butt off listing & emailing 10s of events for everyone (I'm not a natural at this; please help!)
My vote: more events near me (S.OC) plus events like http://meetup.com/Asianfriendster/calendar/10935257 & http://meetup.com/Asianfriendster/calendar/10855848 sound great.
2010.07.07: If you only come else RSVP for events, this group will be a success! Due to the original founders, it's got an impressive-looking roster (239 members & growing every week, all in Orange else LA county, mostly looking 20s thru 30s, mostly Asian BUT not just) & a great name (AsianFriendsters). However mbrs got totally burnt out (0 RSVPs), seemingly from the founders hosting events that mbrs didn't want (MLM money-making schemes, `pay $15 to hear me sing', etc). However in 2010.05 I DestinyArchitect bought the group, saving it from total eternal deletion, and thru days of unpaid work, including individually messaging 20+ mbrs, a new logo & defining direction, plus great Ideas of mbrs (as Jay's 2010 4th of July Day/Night Debauchery in Huntington Beach! - incredible) plus mbrs stepping up to be Event Organizers, the group is very slowly coming back to life. And presently we've got 7 mbrs recently RSVPing: me, Jay, Noah Rappaport, Kat, Krystal, Adi, & Sir WilI-I'am --Yeah!
Hey Michael! Thanks for the random hour long chat at Barnes & Noble. Yes, too bad I missed the presentation, but I'm sure I'll make it out to a future meetup at PeopleSpace. Also, thanks for including the link of your pubs. I think you covered a majority of what you wrote while we had our chat yesterday. By the way, why would you recommend against a "badass" persona? You don't think I could pull it off? Haha.
How's Kubuntu treating you? I went with plain Ubuntu and started playing with software defined radio. Where are you these days?
Hi DestinyArchitect! yes, we welcome allies of any sexual orientation. There are gay and straight members, for instance, who have learned a lot about bisexuality from their participation in the group and come to our events because they enjoy the activities and enjoy our company :) so no worries! and welcome!
Hello there! Sorry couldn't make it the last time to the OC RSVP meetup. next meet up is a must attend. catch up soon Destiny and hope my pizza will still be warm LOL!
I don't know what what sort of "consent" you think I need, or what "warning" I need to give in order to start my own meetup group. Furthermore, I haven't the slightest idea why I would need to "explain [myself]" to you.
Like I said over a week ago, if you have something more you would like to discuss then you can email me.
What happened to the Mar 27 meeting? I was there.
Thanks Michale! I will definitely put your suggestions into consideration.
Hi Michael, thanks for your recommendation! Look forward to seeing you in the future event.
Thanks Michael, it was great to meet you and the other folks on Monday night as well, Won
