5 stars for the hospitality shown by David and his family in their home, and 5 stars for the cool people who attended, but only 3 stars for the chicken wings and hotdogs I burned, and 3 stars for the not-so-eventful GSP fight.

Yeah, I'll definitely try to make the next UFC event.

had a great time meeting everyone. David, thanx so much for opening up your home and hosting this event. Maybe next time GSP will do his Guile flash kick on some poor guy's head!!

Changed my RSVP to include a guest, since my friend might attend. I'll make sure he brings enough food/$ if he attends.

I may not be able to make it in time or at all, because of a work situation. Hopefully things will change, but right now I have to tentatively change my status to can't go for now.

sooo...the block's in the OC? yeah, definitely either option 1 or david's place. If we already have a table booked at Mok Maru Jong, then it doesn't really matter if it's packed or not

    April 26, 2011

  • Napoleon

I like option 2. D&B at the Block with billiards after the event. The other options are too far for me. :(

    April 26, 2011

  • Al

I like option 3 (thanks for offering, David!). We could each chip in $10 or $20 to cover PPV and a decent house gift for David.

    April 25, 2011

  • Mark

has anyone gone to Mok Maru Jong to see a ppv fight? How busy was the place? seems like there'd be more then just one place in ktown showing the fight

    April 25, 2011

  • Andy

Option 1, Mok Maru Jong. Otherwise, Dave's place.

I saw a UFC fight last year at The Office in Burbank, and there was no cover charge. Plenty of parking across the street. I got there just after the prelims started, and it was hard to find a seat, so if we decide on that location, someone should grab a bunch of seats early (I'd volunteer).

  • Al

Fyi, I counted approx. 20 or so locations showing UFC listed here, depending on what we define as "within driving distance":

Dave and Buster's @ the block at orange normally host fights cover charge is 10 dollars

I vote for Huntington Beach or Long Beach area. Pick a place where there's plenty of food, alcohol, billiards and/or darts, etc. so we can have fun afterwards. LoL :-)

maybe if the event is at David's, I'd be willing to pitch in for the cost of the ppv plus bring craft or import beers...

    April 21, 2011

  • David

@curi Yes I live in Pas. Parking is avail on my street till 2am and is never in short supply. I have 50" screen w/ppv. oh i have a few bottles of good liquor too ;)

    April 20, 2011

  • Andy

How about the Parlor on Melrose (use to be El Guapo). No cover....only negatives, it gets packed and parking can be pain with only meter parking.

Curi, u always hold kickass events. Props!

If I don't order the fight myself, I usually find myself going to Buffalo Wild Wings in Torrance, where Del Amo Mall is at. They charge 10 bucks per person and it gets crowded pretty fast, so someone has to get there somewhat early to get seating inside.

Another spot that I know of would be Gallaghers in Long Beach, which is free to get in as long as its before 6:15. http://www.gallagherslongbeach.com/
