Tet Lunar New Year Festival 2014

The Vietnamese New Year is celebrated every year at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. It's a time to enjoy wonderful home made Vietnamese food that you would normally not find at the local restaurants in addition to traditional live performances.

Don't worry about not being Vietnamese. I'm not. I just go for the food. lol My favorites are the summer roll (goi cuon):

and Bun Thit Nuong (basically rice noodles with a bunch of other toppings):

Hey folks, I'm one of the event organizers for ASO. I'm going to be there at 10:50 -11:00 AM near the entrance so I'll wait for members to show up. If you're new and unfamiliar with the meetup, we actually want to meet and greet you so I'll be there for at least 15-20 minutes before I head in. I'll send out an email to all the ones who RSVP'd here with my phone number so you can text or call me if you come late and are looking for us. I don't know how long I'll be at the event but hopefully I'll get to meet you all. New members, we welcome you to the group and hope you'll RSVP for all (or at least some) of my meetups I've scheduled :) THANKS!

Typically, you just walk around until you bump into someone you recognize from a profile photo and ask "Are you from meetup?" But...99% of the people who attend the festival are Asian so I would stay close to the entrance around 11am.

Since this is saturday, the entrance fee is 5 dollars. 10 is for Sunday. I will be there helping with voting for the Vietnamese community. See you guys there.
