Book Club - Asian Authors/Books about Asia Message Board › Coffee and Conversation - Burnt Shadows - Kamila Shamsie
A reminder to everyone, the fifth of every month we have an informal get together for the book club members. There is a nominated book for each month, but it is not essential for you to have read the book to come for the book club.
The book club is at a small initimate setting of a pub called the Coal Hole, where we will have an intimate conversation about the book and everything else. The number of people at this meet-up can vary from 2 to 20, so you you can't predict how this meet-up will turn out.
Last time a few people could not find us at the pub. So here are some more details of the meeting location.
The Coal Hole pub is on at 91 The Strand. It used to be a coal storage for the Savoy Hotel, in day gone by. The hotel is next door.
The meet-up is in the basement bar , called Edmunds; Ale and Wine bar. There is doorway leading to the basement, next to the main coal hole pub at Street Level.
We have a booking in a small private room in the North West corner of the basement. It is not easy to spot this room as it is hidden, but when you enter the basement, turn right and keep walking to the end of the room and you will see the room on the left.
You can always ask the bar staff for the Asian book club meeting and they will direct you to the room.
