Book Club - Asian Authors/Books about Asia Message Board › Trip to Kenya
A number of you were very disappointed when I cancelled the planned trip to Kenya in September. The reason it was cancelled was that the costs were working out to be just too high. We now have another option to go there in November, this may be a little more affordable. Have a look at the proposed itinerary and costs and please reply to this message if you would be interested in this trip. If I get 6-7 people interested, I will resurrect this trip and schedule it again for November.
Depart London Heathrow on the Kenyan Airways flight at 1900 to Nairobi
Arrive into Nairobi at 0630 and connect with the flight at 0930 to Mombasa. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Papillon Lagoon Reef Hotel for a two night stay on an All inclusive basis
The hotel is set on Diani Beach in Mombasa's South Coast considered to be one of the best stretches of beach in the country. Built in a traditional style the accommodation is spread through the pretty tropical gardens.
There is a whole array of water sports on offer and for divers you will find there are regular trips to explore the nearby coral reefs. By day relax and enjoy your surroundings and in the evening there is regular entertainment in the bar. This is a great value for money base for enjoying the wonderful beaches of the south.
Accommodation - The rooms all have air conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito nets, telephone, balcony or patio. Deluxe rooms face the sea and also have minibar and television.
Facilities - There is a choice of restaurants and bars, water sports centre, tennis court, swimming pool, children's pool and play area.

Watch the landscape change from lush coastal palms to rolling dry grasslands, dotted with thornbush and baobab trees, the ideal home for Tsavo's huge diversity of wildlife. Overnight at Ziwani Tented Camp.
Enjoy a morning game walk around the lake, with an armed ranger just in case, before heading off to Tsavo East and an afternoon game drive in search of lion, elephant, buffalo, zebra, antelope, giraffe, monkeys and more. The Ngutuni Game Sanctuary, where you are staying, has its own waterhole, so game viewing goes on all evening. Overnight at Ngutuni Safari Lodge.
After a morning game drive and hearty breakfast you will return to Mombasa to be dropped off at Papillon Lagoon reef for an overnight all inclusive
