WNC Asperger's Adults United (A.A.U.)
Our Mission Statement:
"We strive to create community interaction and dialogue,in order to reduce neural-minority stigma and social isolation for people marginalized by their neurological differences.”
Aspergers United: Helping and learning from one another is our main goal as we all come together as equals to build community and understanding with a non-judgmental attitude that serves to help all autistics and their families.
Asperger's Adults United (A.A.U.) is a group for adults on the Autism spectrum 18 years old and up who want to meet for support, friendship, and fun activities
Our group exists to help one another by creating a community for everyone on the Autism spectrum to thrive and prosper
Our main goal is to provide a local social network to those with ASD. We learn from each other, share coping strategies, and have a deep passion for helping other adults who are seeking answers.
Who can join? Any adult on the Autism spectrum. Those who have not been officially diagnosed but think they may be on the spectrum are cordially invited to join as well. If you feel you need a family member or friend to come and give you support, they are more than welcome to come as guests.
This group is for all races, genders, sexual orientations, and beliefs. We come together, as the name implies, for ALL people on the Autism spectrum as a non-judgmental, all-inclusive group.
We meet once a month at same location for each group meeting. Additionally, we have an ever changing and expanding collection of different locations that we like to meet at to engage in social activities.
Family members and close acquaintances of those on the spectrum are most certainly welcome to contact us for any kind of support and/or questions. We’re all about reaching out to anyone who has concerns about Asperger's and the Autism spectrum. As I said, our main agenda is helping those who are in need.
We also have Austism spectrum-wide community creation parties every three months, to which we invite everyone!
Please come check us out! What are you waiting for?! We're looking forward to seeing you at the next meetup! We are delighted to see new faces
