Hi Photographers!

PLEASE READ FULLY: (I know it's long, you can do it!)

This is a two part 'event', that was inspired by the photo taken by Bambi Cantrell, who did this shoot by 'making the gown' on the spot with no sewing machine.  We will have the materials needed for this event.

Part One:

We will have two sister 'models'coming to this event and we will divide into two teams, each getting a model.  As a creative team, you decide how her makeup and hair should look - we WILL have a hair & makeup artist there and she too is very creative, so you won't be applying the makeup or doing the hair.  You will along with the model & MUA will decide the look!  Start looking at Pinterest, magazines, etc to get ideas for formal makeup that would look good on a high school senior or young woman.

After the team has decided on hair/makeup, you will as a team be creating their dresses!  YES, you will be creating a dress for them!  I won't give much of this away at this time but, trust me it won't be hard and it won't be toilet paper.  It WILL be evening ballgown beautiful!  You do NOT need to know how to sew, you do not need prior experience with dressmaking.  I have NONE of those skills and I can do it.

What you need is the desire to have FUN, have a CREATIVE mind and work as part of a TEAM.  Can you do that?  If so, consider this as we WILL have fun, as in belly laughter, maybe rolling on the floor laughter.  Remember you have a model on your team and they are creatives too. =)

Part Two:

We get to go out and photograph them around downtown Tacoma, there are some gem places that will be perfect for this.  The two teams can start out together for a few portraits with the two sisters then we can split and move forward with your model to the areas your team desires.

Final blurb:

This is something I've been wanting to do for sometime now and have been waiting for 'spring' so we can go outside and have some fun. So, admittedly I'm praying we will have decent weather for this. If not, we will be shooting 'indoors' - in the graffiti garage and a few other locations where we can be protected from rain. Meaning a backup plan is in place! =)

I am aware the price might stop some, please know I've already put more into this than I will be getting back.  The money paid is going to pay for our MUA.  I will need all my supplies back so we can do this again in the future as I KNOW it will be a lot of fun!

MODELS ARE WORKING TFP/DVD, please be sure to share your images with them for their portfolio!

We may add 2 more slots and let there be 3 photographers on a team, just make sure you are willing to share the model and take turns when photographing!

For those who are on the waiting list, we will be scheduling this again in the near future. I rather keep this small and have several sessions than try to expand it and make it a choatic event.

This sounds like so much fun. I wish I wasn't so new to photography. Sounds like a little experience is required for this.

No experience is required! We welcome ALL levels to any of the meetups.

If I can get ONE more model, we will add two more photographers to this event.

Those attending: Feel free to bring odd items that you think you might like to use for building the gowns. The models and MUA will be there to assist. For example I have a belt I want to bring. You might have a scarf or something that you think would be great as part of the dress/outfit. The colors we have are Silver for one model and black for the other. If we have a 3rd model we will have a peach color to use. That's all I'm giving you! Keep an open mind and just be prepared to challenge yourself a bit and to have FUN! (That's the biggest thing, we want to enjoy this experience!)
