This book launch is a great place to meet local writers, editors & publishers

Do self publishers ever get book deals?

The answers are yes!

I love what you are doing to create and bring a community of writers

I am a big believer in the power of the collectiveness of having like minded people together. I am contacting you because I am a local book publisher and we are having a book launch in St. Petersburg.

The book is called Transform Your Life! Expert Advice, Practical Tools, and Personal Stories. It features people from different parts of the world. 40 of them are locals.

The book launch will be a great place to meet the local writers, editors, publisher and connect with other like-minded people in the community (even some who may be interested in what you are doing). I believe that the book would resonate with the community that you have created and wanted to know if you would be open to sharing the information with them?

To get more info on the book launch date and time you can look at our event page and for more information on the book: Thank you for any support you can give us in our mission to transform people's lives. If you have any questions you can email me at: [masked]

I'll believe it when I see it. Have novelin final proof 77,000 words, could launch on Amazon and Kindle this week. I could hold off and give a publisher a week to consider. I have marketing in place, so ready to launch if my pitch doesn't work.

You are right Cindy, there are so many great books on the market to help authors write, get published and market their books. As authors, we need to be willing to read as well as write. Reading is knowledge and knowledge is power. Plus, why should people buy and read an author's book if the author isn't a reader?

I am constantly learning new ways to market and promote my book. The 6 major publishing companies 1) are not interested in first time authors unless they have an agent, 2) authors need a strong following of readers before they will consider publishing their book, 3) authors need a business plan, and most of all, 4) it is up to the author NOT the publisher to market and promote their book. Many authors believe that once they secure a publishing contract, the publisher will spend $1000's of dollars in marketing efforts on their behalf. This is not true. The industry has substantially change. I encourage all new authors to read how to market and promote their book along with writing a full Business Plan. Publishers and agents want authors who understand the business. That is the secret to getting a publishing contract. Hope this helps. :)

It sounds great, but unfortunately I will be out of the state during that time.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
