Chris will cover these points AND answer your questions over a full buffet breakfast:
- How to use events for acquisition - what kinds of planning do you need in place to attempt conversion of ticket-buyers into potential "regular" annual supporters of your charity?
- Transitioning – Event attendees won’t necessarily want to continue attending a particular event after a number of years. How do you deal with that?
- Steps and ideas for reviving a tired or financially flat event.
- Using changing technology to assist with fundraising.
Chris Lowe began working in the Event Management field in 1985 when he joined Expo '86 as an Event Coordinator in the On-Site Entertainment Department. Working at Expo '86 made him realize that he enjoyed the industry and, along with Jane Howard Baker, he started the highly successful Vancouver Comedy Festival in 1987.
1988 found him joining the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon where he coordinated their events, pledge programs, corporate campaign, and more. During that time he started Lowe & Associates offering full service special event production. Currently, he teaches a very popular course in event planning at BCIT and is the Regional Manager of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
