High Speed Air Show Photography - Jones Beach Long Island

This is one of the most amazing and spectacle event you will ever attend. It is an annual attraction for more than 200,000 spectators, photographers, fun-seekers, and of-course politicians. It is one of the most photo-opportunity rich event of the year. It is also one that presents opporuntities and challenges to photographers to take amazing pictures. You will learn how to shoot professional parachute jumpers, capture high-speed state of the art military fighter planes in mid-air that are flying close to each other and very near the speed of sound. You will witness and and have the opportunity to photograph amazing world-class air acrobatic talents that would take your breath away and dazzle you at the same time with air maneuvers. You will see and able to photograph historic planes from the second world war. You will also learn how to shoot against the sun, photograph large gathering, and fair-like activities, statics military display, etc. All of that is done by the beautiful shoreline of the newly renovated Jones Beach State Park.

    Shooting an airshow and dealing with the challenges of fast moving objects under variable lighting conditions was very important for developing my skills for shooting performing art shows both indoors and outdoors.

    There are serious lessons to be learned from such activities.
