Live action Rurouni Kenshin movie

Japan’s number one box-office hit of 2012, this live-action adaptation of a manga about a Meiji era assassin who leaves his life behind to become a protector of the common man has sold 55 million copies as a manga, and spawned several wildly popular animated adaptations. And it’s one hell of a sword-fighting movie.

As someone who didn't know the Anime or Manga at all, I quite enjoyed it. It was a bit more sophisticated and dark than I had expected, which was good. There were a few corny moments but some excellent action and a decent amount of characterization. I agree the supporting actors seemed better, especially the fake 'Battosi' (who I guess is a music star in Japan).

I'm also glad I found some of you it sounds like many people had trouble finding the group. Had a good time hanging out.

I feel like the supporting actors were doing a better job than kenshin.

Sorry I missed you all. I found Erin or rather she found me AT THE FRONT of the line wearing my Samurai Jack t-shirt :-P We were sitting in the front of the middle section. You might have seen her win the last copy of the manga! woohoo!

I missed everyone too. Got to the theater late, so no way could find anyone stayed until the credit ended, but I couldn't find a Samurai Jack shirt so I went home. :(

Hey everyone, don't forget to share phone numbers with each other since there isn't a single dedicated geek adventure hotline number for this event. Unless someone wants to volunteer themselves as a point person.

I don't think people will get lost but if they want, they can email for my cell number. I'll make sure to wear my Samurai Jack t-shirt for the event :-D

@Joe currently the site only shows Tuesday July 9. I don't know if they will add another time or not.

@Teresa since it's currently one show time, it could sell out before you get to the theater....

Kirby, I'll see if I can buy tickets before it starts, and check back. If not, well.....the anime was good by the way, never seen the live version lolz
