Her (movie) with NYC Girl Geek Adventure Club

A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need.

Length: 2 hours and 6 minutes

The movie starts at 1:25pm and costs $15. We can hang out afterwards and get food :)

What geek would not want to see a romance between a man and a computer? Her is an interesting review of the relationship: http://mobile.businessweek.com/articles/2013-12-12/movie-review-her-directed-by-spike-jonze.

This was the first event I organized. Thanks for coming. I hope you enjoyed the movie and Vietnamese food at Saigon Market. That was some future they presented. I wouldn't mind having that type of user interface which was like Apple or Linux.

Thanks for organizing this, the movie was awesome. I had a good chat with my 66 year old IT admin who thinks the movie was awesome and adds life was so much easier in the 60s. His favorite movie is Rubber.

Are you guys meeting up afterwards. If you can send out the details, I'll tag along for that. At this rate, it does seem unlikely I'll make it on time.

There are twenty minutes of previews so if you come by 1:45pm, you shouldn't miss anything. Try to find us in the theater. I will post where we are seating.

Subways are being annoying. I might not be able to make it on time. Apologies if I don't make it.

Are we meeting before or after the movie? And where???

    March 20, 2014

    • Jenn

Hi Susan. Sorry I didn't see this until now but we are meeting between 1pm and 1:15pm in the lobby and then going into the theater. People usually hang out and eat after the movie.

This is the first Geek "Girl" Adventure Meet up I will be going. Given the number of guys going guess its not exclusive. But my friend Kira did create both groups I think. Be nice to meet "those on the other side" hope to see you all today and have fun.

I also advertised on the Girl Geek club so there will be a better gender ratio ;) Four females have already RSVPed since yesterday.

I've already seen it and don't really care to see it again, but I really liked it & recommend it to my fellow geeks! It ended up being a lot better than its premise sounded at first.

Thanks Peter for your recommendation. I hope more RSVP.

When technology gets this far, it's time to destroy the internet Just imagine an ebook reader that's able to revoke purchased books like the Kindle, and the most ironic title of all, is 1984. Big brother is watching…. http://www.techhive.com/article/168654/kindle_e_book.html
