?? ? ? ? ? ?This is Jeremy Pesner. ?Hope you're all having a good weekend. ?I just wanted to let you know about a few things.
?? ? ? ? ? ?First, for those who couldn't make it to my presentation a couple weeks ago, I (finally) got around to posting the slides. ?They can be viewed here. ?I don't know whether Alan's slides are available online. ?I do have a copy of his powerpoint, but I can't post it without his permission. ?If you are interested to see them, write me back and I'll pass on the message.
?? ? ? ? ? ?Additionally, the livestream of the talk is available here?(the video with the time duration of over an hour). ?You can see the entirety of the presentations and watch the volunteers play the games, although the audio is a bit spotty (we had to make some last minute technical changes). ?We are also working on an HD version for Youtube with better sound, and also including footage of Alan and me actually speaking. ?I will inform you when that is live.
?? ? ? ? ? ?This coming Thursday, the Independent Gaming Festival is opening at Babycastles with plenty of games to play. ?The details are?here. ?If you haven't been to Babycastles before, you should definitely check it out. ?It is increasingly becoming the cultural mecca for all game lovers throughout the city, and there is a possibility I might reprise my presentation there. ?I will pass along details about that as well, once they are confirmed.
?? ? ? ? ? ?Finally, those who have seen my presentation already know this, but in December I will be moderating a panel on the future of Internet Communication. ?While not specifically game related (there's already been a Gaming in 30 years panel), I imagine that many of the topics involving how people interact with technology will be of interest. ?If you haven't already, please be sure to join the y+30 meetup group, and once the meetup is formally announced you'll know about it.
?? ? ? ? ? Thank you for your time, and I hope to see you at many of these upcoming events!
Are you a working professional or college student who prefers the company of other geeks? Do you find yourself frequently wishing there was some sort of watering hole for people like you who watch Adult Swim, revel in the joys of DDR/video games, read esoteric books, and indulge shamelessly in intelligent debate? Do you hate hipsters with an undying passion? Do you need people to drink shamelessly with in order to summon the courage to get on stage to croon in front of a large crowd of karaoke goers? Do you long to participate in well-planned out of town ADVENTURES?????
Then this is the group for you!!!
This is an open group, and anyone is allowed to join, but I am looking for interesting and like-minded people who want to leave the safety of their apartment to meet new people, sans pretension, sans judgment, and sans the word sans.
Join today and get a free badge on your first meeting! Or not... Badge making takes a lot of work.
