Do you enjoy wine?  Learning?  An expert?  Are you 30+ and looking for a way to meet down to earth people who share your enjoyment of wine?

About every 6 weeks, the Manhattan and Astoria Wine & Social will either put together a food and wine dinner, find a great deal at a good wine bar, or even just go to a good wine bar.  If you are looking for relaxed folks who can find no better way to start or end and evening than with good wine, you have found the place.

We are non-discriminatory on geography (we don't care where in Manhattan and the boroughs we go), non-discriminatory on wine (although we lean toward red), non-discriminatory on type of food, and occasionally might go crazy and choose a non-wine liquor event!  There is though only one thing we discriminate on, we must have quality wine, and only good wine.

We are always looking for bars with great wine lists (Domaine, Crescent and Vine), and good solid BYOB restaurants as well.  We like themes and of course good food with our wine.

So for 2013 we are looking at the following plans:

Return to Domaine (LIC) and Claret (Sunnyside) as both were spectacular events in 2011/2, and Terroir again.

Spanish dinner for $40 including wine (no kidding)

Try a couple of odd regions or grapes (haven't decided yet, but 2011 Croatia was fabulous)

2013 3rd Annual Furniture in the Yard July/August Soire

2013 vertical tasting (TBD)

Private Boutique Tasting

Occasional Field Test (where not even the organizers have been)

Send us your ideas, and if anyone wants to help organize, we can always use your help!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
