This is one of the better wine bars in Manhattan and the boroughs with a HUGE wine list. They actually have one of the longest lists of Reisling I have seen on a menu. Additionally they have flights for those of you that like to try many types of wine, and the staff will actually quite pleasantly give you a small taste prior to purchasing a glass if that is what you need to do. You can thank our new member Paul for the suggestion!
"On this visit, I bought tastes of three wines and they were the three best wines I have tried at a wine bar in NYC, ever.
The wine menu is long and wordy, sometimes informative, sometimes funny and sometimes too cute. They have some excellent beers including IPA (Ironically, the mediocre NYC wine bars I have tried also carry mediocre beer and don't seem to even know what IPA is)."
This is a $1 meet-up fee event due at the event, and you are on your own for wine (or beer) and food. If we get more than 10 people we will raffle off 20% of the meet-up fees so you will have almost a 1/10 chance of doubling your money! If you like it, we will go to the High Line Terroir when it opens in the spring/summer. I thought this would be a nice event prior to the pre-holiday festivities. Not far from the train either. See you Tuesday, and please RSVP so I can warn the restaurant ahead of time if we are over 10. We don't want to scare them!!!!!
