Hello, and thanks for taking the time to check out our Meetup group.

We like to think there is something in here for every mom or dad in Astoria!

• None of your friends have kids of their own yet?  Attend some of our numerous meetups and make new friends for yourself in the neighborhood, and of course, new playmates for your little ones!
• Need a recommendation for a pediatrician or babysitter?  Check out our message boards.
• Work full time and can only meet on the weekend?  Many of us do too, so no problem!
• Fortunate enough to stay at home and want to meet other parents that can meet during the week? You have plenty of company there too, in this group.
• Don't see exactly want you want on the calendar?  Send any of the organizers an e-mail, or ask to host your own event at a time and place that works for you.

A couple of other bit of information:

• We have no specific rules as to who should join, but most of our members are either expecting parents, or parents of babies and toddlers. 
• There is a yearly $5 membership fee per family.

The membership in this group has swelled in the short time it has been around, without any marketing besides word of mouth.  We attribute this growth to the fact that it is full of really wonderful, friendly and diverse members.
