The Atheist/Agnostic Parent of Seattle meetup is designed to support the freethought communities in the Puget Sound region by providing nonreligious parents a place where they can meet other parents who share their outlook and values. We will strive to provide regular biweekly outings around the area that will encourage our children to learn and play together. We are also committed to providing moral, ethical and emotional support to ourselves, our children and our community.

We want to create a safe and trusted space where parents and our children can participate together to build a community. We will focus on the "Parent" part of the meetup name, not the "Atheist/Agnostic" part. While we are building a foundation for nonreligious parents, our focus will not be on having atheist or religious themed discussions while our children play, though it is not prohibited of course. 

Our focus will be on participating with our children, engaging with them in their play, exposing them to new ideas and helping them to learn and to think. We can't do that, in my opinion, if a parent attends a meetup by themselves. So to accomplish these goals,  this meetup will no longer be open to members who do not have children that they can bring to meetups, and we will be only accepting new members who have children from ages 0-18.

We will still have "parents-only" meetups, but these will be supplementary to the main biweekly meetups.
