  • Mary Johnson, a former nun with Mother Teresa's "Missionaries of Charity" will be speaking about her experiences and why she left the order after 20 years. Her talk will include a discussion of Commitment Mechanisms that drive people to stay in groups even after they've become disillusioned with them, and a short reading from her memoir "An Unquenchable Thirst." Mary now lives as a non-believer, and is married and quite happy.

I hope you'll join us, and/or let your group members know about the talk. It will be held on Friday, Oct. 25th at 7pm on the main campus in Fremont. For tickets and further information, please visit

Hello, I just received this note from the event organizer:

A while back, I sent a message asking for help in promoting a talk at Ohlone College by Mary Johnson, a former nun from Mother Teresa's "Missionaries of Charity." Unfortunately, the talk has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. If any of your members have already purchased tickets, please ask them to contact the Ohlone College Box Office for a refund. -- Sheldon

I am going to give this a few days to make sure everyone gets the message, then I am going to delete this meetup.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
