I love that Billo himself used the word "bloviate" to describe what he does on TV! Bloviate is defined as: To discourse at length in a pompous or boastful manner. Yep! That describes Billo to a T.

Pope John Paul II and John XXIII will be declared saints on April 27, 2014

In order to be canonised, the Vatican has to approve at least two miracles by the would be-saint.

John the II's apparent first miracle was asking God to cure a French nun of Parkinson's disease and his latest act to be approved was the curing of a Costa Rican woman who prayed to him for help with a medical condition.

Well La-dee-dah. Hmmm. I kind of expect the first miracle to be for Catholics to believe this crock in the first place.

Now this is pretty interesting:

What's interesting is the comments on that website. I would have laughed if I weren't so dumbfounded at their level of thinking. One person said "There are nude people all over the "Sixteen Chapel"". Then corrected their spelling in the next post as "Sixtine Chapel". Now that is funny....

Next they'll write about St. Peter's Basilicone. I always thought that was an unnatural shape! biggrin

Lou Landrum, executive director of the Soup Kitchen, told the Herald-Journal she would resign from her job before she let atheists volunteer and be a "disservice to this community."

Wow. Thanks for posting that, Don. I came from the South and had several family members in Spartanburg. I am not a bit surprised by this story--that's the culture down there. Man, am I grateful to be in California!!

In my opinion this is exactly the kind of thing we should be involved with. I have been hearing about the evangelicals fermenting hatred of the LGBT community in Uganda. Now there is a documentary of how this has happened.
We should go and see this as a group outing when it comes to town.]

The scariest thing on that video was the idea that the missionaries want to reach the larger population of fifteen year olds and younger, spreading themselves and their doctrines more widely than by any other method. That's how a virus works. I don't recall now where I saw that comparison, but religion surely IS a virus, and just as dangerous as AIDS.
