Okay gang, it is that time of year. The wife and I plan to put up the "holiday" tree this weekend and for the last ten years I have been putting up lights outside in the shape of a big eight point star. To me it represented the light we looked forward to after we passed the winter solstice. Anyway it was my attempt to celebrate the season without being religious. Before I put up my star, can anyone think of another non-religious design for my outdoor lights? I thought of and rejected the Humanist symbol but keeping my options open. Does anyone here have a favorite non-religious, holiday decoration idea that they would like to share?

I always liked snowflakes. Pine trees and pine cones and hollies to me aren't religious. Anything that symbolizes winter.
