To All Members,

As some of you know I attended The 36th National Convention of American Atheists this past weekend. I felt it was a great opportunity to meet with other atheist organizations from around the country. I had the pleasure of networking with some of the top voices of today?s secular movement, plus some of the world?s top philosophers, scientists and thinkers. Paul Kurtz, Dan Barker, Darrel Ray just to name a few. I was also de-baptized with Massimo Pigliucci by the great Edwin Kagin. I had an opportunity to meet with Sean Faircloth, Executive Director of the Secular Coalition for America and discuss how they can help our cause here in Rhode Island.

The secular movement is gaining momentum. The Obama Administration is making efforts to meet with secular groups such as the Secular Coalition for America, American Atheists and other groups so that they can hear the voices of nonreligious Americans throughout the country.

The Rhode Island Atheist Society is getting ready to take advantage of this shift in thinking and you can help. Go to and buy one of our brand new T-shirts or Window Decals. By displaying your support for RIAS, you will be letting others know that there are atheists here in Rhode Island and that our voices must be heard. You may also help others feel more comfortable about ?coming out? with their non-belief once they see you displaying our logo.

Thank you for taking the time to support the Rhode Island Atheist Society.
