Below is a summary of the decisions made at the meeting on the 25th (full and detailed minutes will be posted once they have been approved as an accurate record of the meeting):

Scott S (organiser of AdelaideAtheists) was elected to Chair the meetings

Janette was elected to take detailed minutes of the meeting

A set of guidelines for the future objects of the organisation were agreed upon:
1.Freedom from religion. Choose terms and explain.
2.Rationalist and sceptical.
3.Education and educating the public. Individuals phrased broadly to both run education events and challenge education events.
4.Peak body of Atheist representatives in South Australia.
5.Fostering sense of community between atheists. It is important to provide assistance to religious “drop outs”.  (Adrian raised concerns about providing counselling. Scott suggested that where counselling is required people will be referred on.)

Gareth, David, Bernard, Cat and Scott volunteered to shape the objects for the organisation based upon these guidelines and attempting to limit them to approximately 4 or 5 objectives. The volunteers were endorsed by those present at the meeting, requiring them to report back at the following meeting.

People who attended the meeting were requested to come to the following meeting with ideas for a name to incorporate this new organisation under.

The date for the next meeting was set for 6:30 (7pm start) on Thursday 14th March. This was done to allow those who are interested but unable to attend on a Monday evening.

Gareth was nominated to explore finding alternate venues suitable for the type of meetings that we will be having.

It did. Just committee meetings being the frustrating beasts that they are before a binding structure is in place

Yea, i think i would rather be a part of an organised group than organising it from the ground up.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
