Monthly Social Meetup

  • Apr 1, 2013 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Change of Venue this month due to the 1st of April being a public holiday.

The monthly social meetups are a great way to meet fellow atheists and be a part of the greater atheist community in South Australia. Each month we gather at The Astor for a meal, a few drinks, and a chat about anything and everything. Whether you've been an atheist for your entire life, or have only recently walked away from religion, you're welcome to come along and hang out for a few hours amidst a friendly atmosphere.

Well done gentlemen. Another good discussion on an extremely important subject and one that is close to my heart. As it turns out i spent 8 years of my youth growing up in Saudi Arabia and found it quite a privilege seeing their country and others in the region. I was fortunate enough to meet many decent and kind people of middle eastern descent and have great affection for people of the region which kind of breaks the stereotype. It makes this kind of conversation all the more important. Clearly there are thousands of people no different to other well meaning individuals around the world in such countries. HOWEVER Islam itself as a belief system is ridiculous. A mirror image of fundamental Christianity of bygone centuries when atrocities were taking place. Without such backwards beliefs that drive such societies backwards, im confident quite a different society would have evolved over there in its entirety.

I hope they have nice vegetarian burgers. The Google Maps image says they won an award for SA's best burger.
