I'm kind of in a lull - like to listen to latino music to practice my Spanish. Several years ago I went through a Mary Chapin Carpenter phase, and the Dixie Chicks as well. Haven't found a new artist who intrigues me yet.
Being a "baby boomer," I feel I grew up on music. The only singer I have revisited recently, though, is Joan Baez who has a CD of songs in Spanish I really love. Most of Carpenter's songs speak to me - one of my favorites is "Passionate Kisses," though she actually didn't write the lyrics or the music.
Haven't really had any "peak" experiences at concerts. When I really connect with a musician it's usually serendipitous (hope that's a word), when I'm listening to the radio or in a shop doing something else. Then I HAVE to find out who the artist is and the name of the song, and sometimes that develops into a new phase.
Hi! I'm one of the older "all ages welcome" people. I love acoustic guitar and songs with a message. I, also, don't enjoy going to concerts alone. This group offers music listening companionship and a chance to make some new friends! Awesome!
