A Not-So-Old-Fashioned Charity Fundraiser!!:)

I'm throwing this event through my Meetup to benefit the Atlanta Browncoats' Serenity Screening! I'd love if you guys would be interested in attending, meeting new peeps, and having a great time. Read on! :)

When you think of cocktail parties, you generally think of people dressed up nicely, sipping martinis, and eating hors d'oeuvres while making new friends. That's totally fun, of course! So, we're going to host a charity cocktail party at none other than the fine dining establishment of Smith's Olde Bar!! :)

That's right! I've gotten requests to return to Smith's Olde Bar, as well as requests for more laid-back nights and a karaoke event, so, we've merged them all into one event.

There is a $5 cover to enter this event, and while it is not required to dress nicely, it is highly encouraged...because that is fun and ironic. Why is there a $5 cover, you ask? Well, it's because we've rented out the Game Room! We have unlimited access to the karaoke machine for the evening, and there are also pool tables and a photobooth.

There is a full menu, and while it's simple bar food, I'm sure that's not really a deal-breaker. There's room for 40 people, so it should absolutely be a great time! Deals on drinks for us that evening include $5 bombs and $5.50 Jameson. You also never know when they're going to be doing an impromptu special, so it's a fun and affordable place to spend an evening.

No worries, non-smokers...Smith's Olde Bar no longer allows smoking downstairs. Smoking is permitted in front of the building. Parking is free and relatively easy to find in the nearby Ansley Mall parking lot, and there's no cover for the bar unless you want to go rogue and see the band upstairs.

If you're new to ATL, or just haven't been to this place yet, Smith's is an Atlanta icon. It's been there forever, and the walls are covered with autographed photos and posters of the many bands that have played there and celebrities that have visited over the years. It should be on your Atlanta Bucket List.

Oh, and because William is having the annual Serenity Screening that benefits 2 wonderful charities the following weekend, any additional funds raised after we pay for the space and the karaoke will be donated to Atlanta Browncoats . Cool stuff, right?

We currently have about 55 RSVPs for this event, and would love to get to 75 to fill the space! :) I'm really looking forward to this event, and hope to see many of you there!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight! Please remember, parking is free near the shops of Ansley Mall, and there's a $5 cover (proceeds go to Equality Now/Atlanta Food Bank at the screening.)

We now have well over 80 RSVPs for this (how many actually show up is always a mystery!) and are looking to bring as many friendly faces in as possible!:) If you're not sure whether or not to join us, the answer is YES...it's going to be a most fabulous party!

I'm probably going to wear some sort of fun dress...but, really, there's no dress code! We're just trying to keep it as fun and free-spirited as possible, so we figured, why not look awesome for the photo booth? *laughs*
