Hi All, it was nice to see a bunch of you at yesterday's Jaspersoft Forum. A few of us talked about a having a local User Group. How's this:

How does this time and place work for you?

Here is a rough agenda for your feedback:

1) introductions

2) demo of latest release

3) peer presentation or demonstration of something cool we've developed

4) open discussion and networking

I'm happy to volunteer to lead items 2 or 3. Of course, I'm open to sharing or handing off these activities with whoever else is interested.

Please respond with your feedback or other expectations. If we get enough positive responses I'll book it.

Alternatively, if someone has office space they want to volunteer that would be good, too

Regards,

Sam Friedman

Likewise, let's keep it going. I think we all could be a huge help to each other.

I also enjoyed the meeting last week. It was great meeting everyone. To follow up on the javascript charting library discussion, highcharts and D3. O'Reilly recently published a book called Interactive Data Visualization for the Web, http://chimera.labs.oreilly.com/books/1230000000345, that details using D3. You can read it online for free and I've started to make my way through it. So far it's really good.

Sam, Thanks for organizing the group and providing your summary. I felt that last week's meeting was very interesting and I'm looking forward to getting our own project off the ground. As far as hosting the next meeting, we'd be happy to have the group come to our office at 6 Concourse Parkway (The King building in Sandy Springs).

Here are some times that would work for me:

Tuesday 9/3, Thursday 9/5, Wednesday 9/11. As far as times we can pretty much do anything, including after hours but after ~4, 5pm would be best for me.

    Thanks,
    Arman

Thanks you all for making our first meetup a success! It was a pleasure seeing familiar and new faces. There are a few follow-up items. Let me know if I missed anything. Here goes:

    1. I distributed the KPI Report instructions. Let me know if you want help with that.

    2. Thanks to Tommy Blalock for demonstrating HTML5 chart properties and sample dynamic report.

    3. Thanks to Jay Fielding for demonstrating how to embed JasperReports development into an existing IDE.

    4. Arman offered to host the next meeting. Thank you!

    5. When should we meet next?

    6. Arman, do you want to propose a few dates and times that work for you? We can use the Polling feature on this site to build consensus.

    7. I'll setup a poll to solicit your feedback. I want to know what we can keep, remove or improve for next time.

    Regards,
    Sam

Hi All, I just realized Roam closes at 6pm. Are you OK meeting during business hours? 3pm or 4pm?

      I can do that
