Freeside Atlanta Open House

Join us Tuesday, November 13 for an open house at Freeside Atlanta, a local hackerspace. We'll check out their latest projects and get a tour of the facility.
In the words of Steven Sutton, one of Freeside's Board Members,
"Freeside is a place where creative people that are motivated by curiosity can get together to discuss, experiment, and refine projects that wouldn't be possible otherwise. Because of the diversity of skill sets present in the space, there is always something to learn and someone willing to teach. Because of the available tools and resources, there is usually a way to experiment hands-on fairly quickly with any given subject. Activity in the space can take the form of classes, projects, or events. Those can be found on Meetup and are always welcome to both members and non-members. However, if we don't have a class organized on a subject you want to learn about, there is always someone in the space willing to help you one-on-one with it.

Hi Jason! We changed it to the 13th, as I had forgotten about election night. (Some, including me, will have to vote after work) Hope you can still come!

Jason, we have open houses almost every Tuesday from 7pm until the last member closes up (usually pretty late). We only cancel it for major holidays. You can find our open houses, classes, workshops, and project group meetings on the Freeside meet up calendar.

The directions to Freeside aren't always the clearest. We're working on posting some dash-cam videos of directions from different parts of town. If you're coming from the North, take the connector South, past the I20 interchange and take the Turner exit West (right). Stay on that road, through the housing area, over the railroad tracks, and left onto Metropolitan (gas station on the right there). Stay on Metropolitan through the funky intersection with RDB, and the Metropolitan complex is on your right. Once in the gate, go right, and all the way back. Then take a right along the back fence, and another when you get to the goats (on the left). Freeside is on the left about 1/3 of the way down. Parking can be a fun activity. Try not to block any doorways. There's more parking around back of that building, and up front on the north end (closer to the goats).

The web site has directions from Marta. If anyone needs a ride back to the station after dark, just ask.

If you're going to freeside you'll need their gate code. send an email with subject "gatecode" to [masked] to retrieve it.

Quick question - is this meetup on the 6th or the 13th?
