DAX vs. MDX Smackdown!

Please also RSVP at http://atlantabi.sqlpass.org/ if you plan to eat food.

Overview

DAX is the new language for tabular data in PowerPivot and SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular.  MDX is been there in OLAP space for quite some time.  Have you been doing data analysis using MDX or DAX?  If so, have you noticed the similarities and differences between DAX and MDX?  This session will give you an introduction to MDX and DAX languages and will make you to better understand the similarities and differences between them. We will have a small battle between the two to show you that.  Don’t worry, no punches will be thrown!

I am hoping to attend but will wait to make sure before I check es or no. I do have a question or two. I am studying for the SQL Server 2008 Exam 70-432. I was hoping to get suggestions on current study material. A few members of the SQL Brit forum suggested using the MS SQL Training Kit [masked]). I am also wondering if I can get suggestions on companies here in Atlanta to call for internship or volunteer work to get more hands on experience. I really want to learn this material so I am accepting all help and advice.

    Thanks in advance,

    Elaine
