Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra brings world premiere performances of two compositions by Atlanta poet and composer Dan Veach: "Elegy for Anna Lee" and "Psalm 23". Dan is the editor of “Atlanta Review”. His book “Elephant Water” recently won the Georgia Author of the Year Award in poetry. Led by director Juan R. Ramírez, this gala concert celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Shearith Israel Shelter for Homeless Women. The repertoire will include Bizet, Veach, and Tchaikovsky.

    Hi folks. The description doesn't make clear that this is a fundraising benefit for the synagogue's shelter for homeless women. There will be a silent auction and the sorts of things that you would find at a fundraising event. The orchestra is donating it's time for the cause. You can find more info at the shelters website:
