Tickets are $10 at the door.

Mitch Weverka is a prize-winning guitarist from Fort Worth, Texas. Performing music from every historical period, he has toured throughout the United States and Italy, both as a recitalist and with chamber groups.

Classical Guitar Magazine described him as “intriguing… highly intelligent… finely played and sensitive”. The Fort Worth Star Telegram says he “impresse[s] with his technical wizardry … [playing] with relaxed flair and great musical definition.” La Provincia in Italy says he “possesses truly refined talent, instinct, musicality, and undeniable technical qualities.”

Mitch is the Artistic director of the Fort Worth Guitar Guild, directing the annual Guitar Guild Music Festival at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

This was a very comfortable venue. 40 people sat in a quiet, comfortable room on the top floor with good snacks and all the coffees, teas, beers and wine you could want, and enjoyed an intimate salon atmosphere. Weverka is a master performing difficult music well off the beaten path, but he took the time to explain each piece of music before he played it, giving the audience a better understanding. The newly-written pieces based on Bolivian folk dances were especially charming.

His touch was so expressive. He made the guitar really sing.

He was just wonderful -- his manner was so quiet, modest, and unassuming, but his fingers on the guitar? Oh, my gosh: there was nothing unassuming about his playing. The music was just ethereal.

Just got a note from the Guild saying that capacity in the room is only 50 people. So he suggested that we need to get there early to get a seat. Just wanted to let this group know. I'm going to get there at least by 7pm. Maybe earlier. Anyone else want to meet early?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
