Please note: This is going to be pops and light classics, so it's not typical of the classical fare posted for this Meetup. But I thought it would be fun since there aren't many outdoor classical concerts, especially at this time of the year.
At 7 p.m., the Johns Creek Symphony concert will be performing. They have a reputation as a top-notch local orchestra. Fireworks follow the concert.
There is entertainment during the day, but it stops around 4:30. If you come around 6, we can stake out a spot to sit together and visit before the concert. BRING LAWN CHAIRS OR BLANKETS!
If you'd like to see the art (both juried exhibits as well as arts and crafts to buy), come before 6 (the booths close then). I'll probably be there around 5.
I've not been here before, so don't know of a good meeting spot---just call me on my cell at[masked] when you arrive between 5 and 7. After 7, I am unlikely to hear you. Please no texts or voicemails. I can't guarantee a space for us as a group, so try to come as early as possible.
Pets are allowed. This is family-friendly as well. I will be inviting members of my Classical Music MU also.
They note that food is available until 8:
"An assortment of yummy treats will be available for purchase in the food court and throughout the festival over the weekend. Be sure to check out the delicious BBQ prepared by the Atlanta Athletic Club chef! Burgers, hot dogs, fresh seafood, funnel cakes, hot pretzels, ice cream, cheesesteaks, hot coffee drinks, lemonade and much more will delight the culinary senses and keep everyone satisfied. Adult beverages will also be for sale. The food court will be open until 8pm Saturday evening, so be sure to grab a bite before the concert by the Johns Creek Symphony which begins at 7pm and will be followed by fireworks!"
Parking is available on the grounds. The Atlanta Athletic Club fields are directly across from the Club at 1390 Bobby Jones Drive, Johns Creek, GA 30097 (intersection of Ga. 141 and Bobby Jones Drive). Get directions.

Admission is free. Please donate $1 to me to keep this Meetup going (annual dues are coming up soon. People don't realize it costs organizers $144 a year to run a Meetup group; Meetup doesn't provide the online space for free!).
