    If the exposure and light were different this might not have worked so well. I'm guessing you had your aperture set beyond f/8 to create the starburst from the sun. This otherwise would have turned into a boring hot spot rather than interesting visual. The fill flash is balanced very nicely with the ambient exposure and adds a lot to the foreground. Two technical things that saved the image. Nice job.

    Per your Digital 102 class, I used f/16 to get the starburst. See, I do listen, sometimes. :-) And yes, I did pop the flash.

    I believe the technique was in Dean's Digital 102 and/or Composition classes. If I remember, anything f16 or over will give you star bursts of the sun, headlights, lamps, street lights, etc. I had to use the pop up flash as fill-in flash to get the flowers and leaves exposed correctly. If I am wrong, Dean can correct me.
