Join Heather Dougherty, Research Director at Experian Hitwise, Omniture’s Christopher Knoch, Head of SEM Services at Omniture, and Francis Lavelle, Director of Analytics at HowStuffWorks.com as they cover analytics from three different perspectives. Heather will dive into search data and tell us where she sees the economy heading across key industries. Chris will show you how to get some quick wins using analytics and share some really cool metrics that blend analytics with search marketing and Francis will present how he uses tools, such as Omniture and Hitwise to help shape winning strategies. So come join us for an evening of food, drinks and networking and learn all about analytics from the inside and out! ABOUT OUR PANELISTS: Heather Dougherty; Research Director, Experian Hitwise
Heather is a leading authority in online commerce and marketing, a result of covering the field extensively since 1997. At Hitwise, Heather will continue her focus on this space, providing insight into online consumer behavior and competitive intelligence to Hitwise clients. Heather’s expertise in the online commerce landscape has been quoted extensively in the press, including Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Business Week. Heather has also been a guest on ABC World News Tonight, CNBC, NPR, and CBS Radio. Heather speaks frequently at industry events such as Shop.org, Internet Retailer, Ad:tech, and Search Engine Strategies. Prior to joining Hitwise, Heather was with Nielsen/NetRatings as the senior retail analyst, where she provided strategic analysis and designed custom research projects. Before her time at Nielsen, she spent four years with Jupiter Research covering the online retail and commerce space, including marketing and promotions, merchandising, and personalization. Heather earned a B.S. in business administration and marketing at The Ohio State University.


Christopher Knoch; Head of SEM Services, Omniture
As a Principal Consultant for the Omniture Best Practices Group, Christopher Knoch is responsible for implementing best practices for organizations using Omniture SiteCatalyst and Omniture SearchCenter to maximize optimum tracking and management of all search engine marketing efforts. Christopher has over eight years of search engine marketing experience as a senior manager of strategic accounts and technology development at both 360i and SearchIgnite. Christopher has also worked on the client side with companies such as Cingular Wireless and EMS Technologies.


Francis Lavelle; Director of Analytics, HowStuffWorks.com
Francis Lavelle is the Director of Analytics at HowStuffWorks (Discovery Communications) and he has extensive experience in both media and ecommerce analytics with a strong background in web product development. Prior to working at HowStuffWorks Francis managed Web Analytics for Delta Air Lines. Francis also served as Manager of Online Strategy for Redcats USA and as the Director of product development for Internet start up e24/7 inc. EVENT DETAILS:

    I asked the crowd after the event and sounds like everyone enjoyed the venue and food. The speakers were good but some attendees wanted it to go deeper. Sounds like we have an Analytics Part 2 event in the future. :)

    The content was not as in-depth as advertised and was not a panel, as advertised, which would imply discussion between the participants. The first two seemed like advertisements for the respective companies although I did find the How Stuff Works portion interesting.
