Its been a while since on stage, but I did act and studied at different studios that were ground breaking at that time. I went from acting to directing, writing, and producing after leaving NYC to develop my own work that had a conscious edge to it. I believe that theater, film can change an individual and my work was committed to that process. My work was honored by the Presidents Counsel of the Humanities under President William Jefferson Clinton as being one of the top 100 theater companies in the country and served as the Outreach Program for the prestigious Pittsburgh Public Theater. I sold my company ARCH Productions in 2003 and retired from the business. Until 2011 when I became obsessed with an idea for a TV show. I have been working with this ever since and should soon be pitching it to some major networks. I know its not prefect, I know it needs improvement. Everything gets rewrites and I look forward to going through that process. Perhaps this group can assist me.
Drama mostly, comedy after that.
Breaking Bad as got to be on top of my list for TV shows, along with Walking Dead, and Downton Abby, three very different type shows. Theater shows such as In Search for Intelligent Life in the Universe by Jane Wagner and Lilly Tomlin was extremely inspirational for me. West Side Story and Once Upon This Island, Les Miserables are three of my top musicals, and as far a movies just too many to mention to put into any kind of order.
Yes. I would love to hear what others from the group have to say about my pilot. Its a one hour TV Drama about six men, anonymous to each other who struggle with race, culture and sexuality and how it affects their lives.
Good networking, good conversation, and good critiquing and support of others work.
Recently returned to writing with a 1 hour cable TV Drama SKIN DEEP The Series, after serving 17 years as Artistic Director for ARCH Productions, a theater company I founded where I wrote, directed and produced 10 theater pieces during that time.
It was very exciting for me to be able to attend and now be aware of such a group. I look forward to the next one.
