Could you make sure that one of the two wireless access points that you use is configured for "b" or "g". The computer I brought to the last meeting doesn't support "n". My computer could see the Emerald City point, but I could not connect to it. It could not even see the second point.
Alan, The meetup content was exactly what I needed to get over a little frustration setting up a current RoR environment on Linux. I knew that RVM was the best way to manage versions of ruby/rails installations, but searching for current information on the web usually found older blog entries for previous versions with less accurate information. This confused a newby like me.
Thanks for taking the time to help people new to Ruby and Rails.
I was taking a look at the next Emerald City Group meetup and I noticed you're covering a chapter 8. Does this mean you've covered the other chapters in previous classes?
I suppose what I really want to know is if I should attend. I have about 2 years of git and ruby experience, but have only touched on rails. Do you think it'd be good to dive in at this point?
Alan, can you send yesterday's email again. I left in my in box for this morning's "to-do" and deleted it on accident.
