November Games Night

  • Nov 9, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Moved to the second Saturday in November.

Many fall foods are favorites simply because they are harvested during the fairly dismal months of cold-weather produce (things like apples, cranberries, and winter squash). Others are beloved because we generally only have them around this time of year.

It just feels natural to start craving comfort foods and holiday dishes about the time the pumpkins start growing their own heads of hair while drooping on our front porches in early November. It's as if we're programmed to desire certain fall foods, just as the leaves are programmed to turn colors and fall off their branches.

Cover charge $1.00

Pot luck at 6PM

Games at 7PM

House Notes:
We have 3 cats and 3 birds if you have allergies, and request that you do not bring shellfish or pork to the potluck. Also you can bring kids to our house, please do not count them in your +1 and note in your RSVP including age.

OK, so next time we try campfire games we either need more flashlights or a couple lanterns. Great fun, glad everyone had a great time.

    OK, couple things:
    1) reminder this is the second Saturday.

Planning to bring potatoes. Hearty and warm — good for fall weather.

For the potluck, I am going to make a bunch of appetizers (samosas, wings, etc) and a big pot of chili so we could use sides and deserts.

I'll probably be bringing a variety of homemade cookies. Any special requests or dietary needs I should know about? I've got a few of my own, so the cookies will all be gluten, dairy, egg, soy and oat free. It probably wouldn't be too difficult to sub out other ingredients if anyone needed me to.

Might want to let us know how many people "pledge" a main course vs desert. That way us lazy folks know what to buy.

Just realized I won't be able to make this. Sorry
