September Game Night Hosted by Barbara Jaycox

September's Game Night -- hosted by Barbara at the Rubin's house.

Theme : Guinea Pig Buffet Bring something that you have never made before. You can go to the Internet and pull off a recipe and hope it tastes great. Ask someone you know for their recipe, look in your own cookbooks or make it up. It just can't be one you have tested.

Of course no actual pigs, guinea pigs or shellfish will be used.

Bring your food offering, positive attitude and any games you might want to share.

Also, in honor of Labor Day in September, we will give out paper for you to write a profession you had in the past. We will then read them aloud and try to guess who belongs to which profession. Hopefully you had an interesting professional history.

Your host:

Barbara Jaycox

Update 9/1:

Dear Victims of the untested buffet,

Do not be afraid. I am positive the food will turn out delicious. Our theme is food offerings that you have not personally tested. Hey, we are risk takers!

I will update my RSVP today stating what I plan to bring. As much as having 12 desserts may be tasty, we would like to avoid too much of the same food category so please indicate what you plan to bring.

We will have a little game of "guess who had which former occupation". If you have a similar idea of a question we could have fun with, please email me so I can consider including it in the game. I am fairly new to the group so I am excited about hosting.

See you on the 8th. Barbara

Regular details:

Pot luck at 6PM

Games at 7PM

House Notes:
We have 3 cats and 3 birds if you have allergies, and request that you do not bring shellfish or pork to the potluck.

People responded with occupations and stories - it was a fun ice breaker. The buffet of untested recipes turned out delicious as I was sure it would. Everyone has a fun time.

The what was you prior job and most-est story games were interesting and a fun way to learn about other folks. The guinea pig potluck was also a lot of fun, we got some unusual and delicious dishes.

Please email me with your "previous occupation". Also, how about 2 - 5 sentences about "the most X thing that ever happend to me". It could be funniest, weirdest, romantic, terrifying, whatever - your choice. Send it to me and I will create a page of these and attendees can guess each author. We'll have fun. [masked]
