What a fun time at a beautiful home! The Casavants are wonderful hosts and offered games too numerous to count. We all played and laughed and some bobbed for apples (emersing their heads entirely under water) and some carved pumpkins. I carved my very 1st pumpkin ! One thing, these games provide not only fun but opportunities to learn and be impressed with the wealth of knowledge our fellow participants have. I now know what "sweetbreads" are.

Had some good laughs playing the Furt game. Everyone was very friendly. Hosts did good job with extra entertainment with bobbing apples and pumpkin carving.

OK, I decided with all the chilis on the menu, I'm bringing cornbread/butter.

Sounds tasty, Chris! I will try to remember to bring Telestrations; I am really hoping some of you might want to play Cranium...but then, we may already have our hands full with the pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, and potato racing :-)

Just a quick request...if anyone has the game "Telestrations", please bring it! I've had a hoot every time I've played it. I will also be bringing Wits and Wagers if anyone is interested in it. Oh, one more small request...if you are bringing something vegetarian, would ya mind labeling it? It gets kinda old trying to figure out what's vegetarian and what isn't...and I'd rather find out before biting into it :)

Oh, I think I will be bringing Quiona and Black Beans.

hey I'm new to this group and considering joining you Saturday but I see that there's only 1 spot left . I would like to come with my husband. Would that be ok?

Sounds like we have some great grub in the works! Don't be discouraged to bring a main dish, better more than one main course than a house full of nothing but sides!

Don't lie Scott... you'd love that! Lots of yummy snacks!

Is anyone else planning to bring a meat dish? I had been planning on making a turkey chili, if not. And to answer Mel's question, we pretty much like everything! :-D

Jo, We're planning on bringing a kosher meat chili with a small smidgin of lamb (see below). It's gonna be super yummy! =)

It does sound awesome, C! I think since the white chili I was planning is very different, it could make for a Great Chili Night, unless someone else is planning on a 2nd main dish. But I need to know before I go shopping tomorrow!

OK, I'm new here, really looking forward to meeting everyone. What do people like to eat? I love cooking (I used to own a catering business). I see Chili/Nachos are both taken. Send me your suggestions!!

Anything Fall themed! You could try a sweet potato or pumpkin featured appetizer or dessert, or anything really! Here's a great forum thread on ideas if your feeling adventurous: http://community.cook...

    I'll bring a cake

    October 4, 2012

  • Marsha

Mel, you love cooking.... one suggestion would be to bring whatever your speciality is... and/or a fabulous vegetable dish. :o)

    October 3, 2012

  • Jenny

I will bring little nachos and a fall pumpkin dessert. Yum!

    October 3, 2012

  • Cassandra B.

I don't see anyone responding to this per the usual "I'm bringing" comments... I hope that it's still on? However... "Steve" aka Dave will be making Chili from scratch and if i may say... it's SUPER yummy (FYI- It'll be kosher but not vegetarian). I'll try to bring cheese/sour cream on the side for it, if I remember :)
