Thanskgiving will soon be upon us, and this marathon will include a pot luck, so please bring a dish to share. (If you don't cook, that's ok, store-bought is just fine.) Please add your dish to the comments so we can coordinate.

I'm hosting a science fiction marathon on the big screen with surround sound at my home in Roswell. I have Firefly/Serenity, BSG, Stargate, Star Trek, Star Wars, Dollhouse, Buffy, Farscape, LotR, Aliens and more on Blu-Ray/DVD.... And you're welcome to bring your own!

Past events have included showings of Firefly, The Guild, Dr. Horrible, The Matrix, Fanboys, Galaxy Quest, the Princess Bride, The Big Bang Theory, Underworld, TRON, Space Battleship Yamato, Dark City, The Hulk, Alien, Donnie Darko and The Dark Crystal. I have also shared pictures and video from past Dragon*Cons.

This event may tentatively feature: new episodes of The Guild Season 6, Doctor Who or The Muppets Movie and Dragon*Con 2012 video.

(Location will be sent directly to new attendees by email prior to event.)

Parking: please pack the driveway full. I can fit 6 cars in there...

For questions, send me email here or call me @[masked]-6458.

(There is and never will be a charge for these marathon events.)

UPDATE: Note from Johnny:

Hi Fellow Geek Friends:
We will be setting up an Online auction via ebay Giving Works to allow you to donate a geeky item (or more) with 100% of the selling price to go to the Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief. If you wish to donate an item for us to auction, please bring it with you to this Saturday's 11/10 M.A.G. event at the home of Dave. Depending on the interest and response, we'll possibly have another collection opportunity at his 12/8 event and possibly our 12/13 Winter Geek Gathering.

Since we will be listing with 100% of the proceeds to Red Cross Sandy relief, ebay will credit the entire insertion and Final Value fees when the listing sells. If for some reason your item doesn't sell, we can re-list or return the item to you at a future event.
Steve and I will be collecting the items and we'd like to list them or at least get your product description, starting price bid, buy it now or selling price on the day we receive them from you. Feel free to help us in any way that you'd like or that you can.

Thanks!

Sorry Karen. I have been without Internet access since I left at 11:30 until home now. Dave emailed out directions last night I believe.

Hi Karen. I am sorry you couldn't make the meetup. I went back and checked and I saw that you were on the guest list prior to when I emailed out the directions. I confirmed the directions were sent out. Perhaps they ended up in your mail spam folder? Anyway, I am sorry I didn't see the comment you posted until afterwards -- with 20 people coming, I do my best to stay on top of things, but there is always someone new that seems to "fall through the cracks". I'll email you the directions individually and if you can make the December marathon, we'd love to have you attend. -Dave

For as much as Dave and I love hosting these marathons, I'd like to kindly remind all attendees that these are primarily movie watching marathons, with time for socializing BETWEEN the movies, but during the movie it is distracting to those trying to watch to have to listen to loud conversations that have nothing to do with the movie being shown. There have been quite a few people who've expressed to either myself or to Dave that one of the movies shown this past Saturday was especially difficult to focus upon with such a large distraction within earshot.

What do you need me to bring?

I'll bring the ice & assorted plastic utensils and we can go from there. :-). Feel free to mention anything else you might need me to bring.

Since Craig says he has some utensils he can bring, how about bringing a simple side instead? Maybe some potato salad or macaroni salad? Or anything you'd like to bring...

Just want to let you all know that Michelle and I will be making lasagna and a dessert of banoffee pie. Please post what you'll bring in the comments so we can coordinate. (If you don't know what to bring, feel free to email me for suggestions -- store bought is just fine too.)

I'll bring a hot chicken cassarole type dish. I have a small crock pot for it, so it will look un-elegant, but stay warm.

That's great! We will make sure we have power available so you can plug it in. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Wish I could make it to this but I promised Ginger that 11/10 would be a blackout date so that we can do something just the two of us since we've got so much going on the rest of the year.

That's totally understandable. We would love to have you here in the future. Maybe the December Holiday Marathon?
