    Mark - just wanted to say thanks for your input - now I have a "road map" & will feel comfortable building a modest plain vanilla site. I launched 2 sites several years ago with off the shelf packages, they were functional as "store bought" applications - but then I got into Dream Weaver to update announcements- sales and additional jpegs. I finally got things working, but not satisfied. It was insightful to listen to all the opinions and experiences everyone had.
