Hey all

My name is Glen Gordon and Im a Developer Evangelist with Microsoft. I work with many user groups locally, doing presentations, connecting members with resources, finding speakers, etc. In the past I primarily supported the Microsoft based groups but Im also involved with other groups like Atlanta PHP and Atlanta Web Designers group. In fact I might have met some of you at those meetings.

I am very happy to do the same sort of support for the JavaScript meetup. I can come speak on jQuery or ASP.NET Ajax, or debugging, or using REST services that return JSON data. Or I can find some folks in the community to present. For example Dave Ward would be able to do some excellent talks. His blog is http://encosia.com/ and dont let the mention of ASP.NET in the title fool you, he is a serious JavaScript and jQuery guru!

I can also probably get some JavaScript books as giveaways, etc. Ill also help promote the group to the local community. One way you could do that right away is to get listed on http://atlantausergroups.com, http://devcow.com and http://communitymegaphone.com

My blog is http://blogs.msdn.com/glengordon and I hope to meet many of you soon!

-Glen

We will more than likely host it at Ignition Alley.

I am interested in knowing what kind of topics/speakers the membership would like to have at the Meetups.  Let me know.

Are there any Google Atlanta folks on the group?

Are there other major JavaScript companies/people in Atlanta we can touch base with to be speakers?

Also, if you haven't caught it... I really enjoy listening to "This Week in Startups" Podcast on my iPhone.  Do any of you guys have good podcasts to recommend (other than Diggnation)?

Yeah, I'd also like to resurrect this group.  I was regularly
attending for the first five or so meetups and even did some
presentations but had to step back this summer to take care of other
stuff.  Could we still host the meetings at RoundBox?

1. Sometimes I use StackOverflow for DOM questions.  They often are a
close-to-top hit for my Googled questions.

2. Haven't done it.  I do read Resig's blog though.

3. No
