Hello All,

I make my hay with python/django mostly but also jquery.?

I use stackoverflow a little bit, mostly for intractable python stuff.? Hadn't heard about the jquery podcasts, nice. I'll try to catch the next one.? I want to see an atlanta javascript meetup.? I would prefer lecture hall with projector and a variety of talks of different lengths and levels of formality.? I could give a talk about (jquery and django) or (openlayers and geodjango).

Another vote for resurrecting the group. ?As the former organizer I even volunteer to be assistant organizer and/or to present on occasion. ?One presentation I could do is on how to use ExtJS as the frontend to crontab -- simple and useful introductory ExtJS material, I've already implemented this once with a PHP5 backend.

As to #1 below, I've probably asked about a half dozen Javascript questions on SO, e.g.:?http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1381481/is-checking-for-the-readiness-of-the-dom-overkill

Hey to all you JavaScript Meetup Group members. I have been incognito since becoming the organizer. Sorry. I have been absent primarily because I am in the throws of founding a software company. Hopefully many of you entrepreneurial minded members can relate.

I have been doing some interesting JavaScript work in the application we are building. The application is an ExtJS based application with a CodeIgniter backend. In working through the daily issues I often would like to reach out to the community of JavaScript developers and converse about JavaScript topics. There are no JavaScript developers near the water cooler in my office so this meetup is probably a good resource.

Anyway I believe the community of Atlanta JavaScript developers would benefit from a sense of community beginning with online communication through the membership mailing list. I will throw out the first questions and hope that other questions with follow:

1. How many of you leverage StackOverflow.com for asking JavaScript questions? Comments?

2. How many of you listen to the JQuery podcast? Comments?

3. How many of you have looked into the Google Closure Compiler? Comments?
