John Ujda, VP of Marketing at Better World Books, has kindly agreed to talk to us about B Corporations.
If you are a first time guest, attending a club meeting is a great way to get to know the club and its members! As always, you are welcome to bring friends to the meeting.
A B-Corporation, short for Benefit Corporation, is a type of corporation required by law to create general benefit for society as well as for shareholders. Benefit corporations must create a material positive impact on society, and consider how their decisions affect their employees, community, and the environment. Moreover, they must publicly report on their social and environmental performances using established third party standards. A B-corp is a form of for-profit charity.
