Introduction

Morning ya'll. That's right I'm a native Georgian but recently retired and moved up to the mountains. I know no one up here, but love the outdoors, including hiking, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and camping. If it's outside, I'm in. so to speak.

What are your favorite outdoor activities?

oops, covered in the previous introduction.

Where is the coolest place you've been?

Hiking on the AT, Raven Cliff Falls, Providence Canyon are great. Hawaii is my favorite place recently, but hard to kayak there or hike there.

What's the most adventurous thing you've done?

Hiking the Georgia section of the AT

Where is your favorite getaway spot?

primitive wilderness camping

How did you hear about Outdoor Club South?

a new friend was a member and it sounded nice.

    Atlanta Area Paddlers

    Hi Steve:
Barbara here...we met at summer splash yesterday. I am the coordinator for a meetup group called Singles Outdoor Adventure. I lead camping, biking, paddling and hiking events. I am an event leader for AAP and co-post my paddle events with SOA and AAP as SOA is much smaller. I would love to do this Etowoh paddle weekend after labor day as Roxy is booked labor day and we typically co lead. Does this work for you? I can be reached directly at [masked] or [masked]

Hi Steve; Yes your friend can borrow my kayak. Only problem is that I may be in Savannah over MLK weekend. Remind me as the date gets closer so we can work it out.

Steve, Thanks for joining the group. We will repeat the Bug Out Bag session throughout the summer. Hopefully the group can count on you to impart some of the knowledge that you have on Hiking or other topics.

If you have any topics you feel comfortable offering instruction please let me know. Regards, Jeff
