Dr Marino will present the scientific evidence for self-awareness, high-level intelligence, social complexity and culture in dolphins and then discuss the implications for the ethics of how we currently treat and interact with dolphins and other cetaceans.
Excellent talk! If you couldn't make it check out the audio and (hopefully soon) video.
Here's the trailer to the Oscar-winning documentary "The Cove" that was mentioned in the presentation:

Mike,
The audio of the meetup doesn't seem to be functional.
I'm not sure about the RSS feed, but all I get is a page with a lot of code on it. Do I need to do something else?
Thanks for the help... :)
Karen, The first URL in Mike's comment is the RSS feed and the second one is a direct link to the audio file. The second one should open in your browser, assuming that your browser can understand audio/mpeg content. Our podcasts are also available through the iTunes store. This URL provides a convenient way to subscribe: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPod...![]()

Hey Mark,
Thanks for the reply. I can get the audio icon on my page but when I hit play, nothing happens. Two others gave it a try (at my request) on their machines, but no one is able to get sound. The icon simply sits on the page. Can you play it? hear it?
